A Vision Of The Future w/ Augmented Reality Everything

May 20, 2016

This is Hyper-Reality, a video created by Keiichi Matsuda that "presents a provocative and kaleidoscopic new vision of the future, where physical and virtual realities have merged, and the city is saturated in media." Basically it's a vision of a future where there is tons of augmented reality shit literally everywhere you look. It gave me a headache just trying to watch. My brain can't handle that much stimulation. You know what kind of stimulation my brain can handle though, don't you? *wink* Sensual stimulation. "Are you propositioning me?" That depends, are you a cop? "No." Damn, I was really hoping for somebody in uniform.

Keep going for the mind-melting future that includes adopting a virtual dog that lives on your shopping cart when you're at the grocery store.

  • alainmartel

You absolutely need to add some hard core add blocker to that thing! Also, some content filtering would help a lot.
    Finaly, don't forget the anti-virus :)

  • Étienne Pelletier

    yes and parental control too

  • ispitzhotfire

She got 4 city points. How many do you need to level up?

  • Jenness

Did they have to have this done through the eyes of the most depressed person on the planet? I just want to slap that device off her head and hug her. But - it IS a pretty rockin' ad for Catholicism.

  • archer923

Yeah... On the fly rotoscoping people, and motion tracking, will totally be that good, BS.

  • AtomicAcorn

Wow, for a geek page everyone here seems very against cool-ass looking technology. Maybe it's just because I grew up with William Gibson books and anime like Dennō Coil, but if you removed the dystopian Black Mirroresque stuff this would be awesome.

  • Kaye Ting

This is a bombardment on the senses. fuck all that noise.

  • Anon the Mouse

What's scary is this seems pretty accurate to me. A lot of you say "No freakin' way" right now, but this sort of thing would be so gradual, it would happen without you realizing. Stores will start using holo ads; "Oh, that's cool", you'll think. Glasses or contact lenses will allow you to see screens, messages and video. "Wow, I want that!". Customize the world around you with targeted ads and decor! "WHOA!". Then the contacts will turn into body mods, store ads and other apps will take over, everyone vying for the next coolest thing. The world will appear more digital than real, and when it all falls apart you'll be stuck seeing the stark gray reality that we turned into.

  • Étienne Pelletier

yes and we will be the futur hipster that dont use that stuff

  • Gawd give me the sweet release of death before this becomes a reality.

  • Jenness

I agree, I don't want to 43, doing odd jobs I hate, have 3 friends and asking Google Who Am I and What is my Purpose only to be stabbed stigmata like by a viral entity until I end up at church to establish my identity either.

  • Kaye Ting

That wasn't a virtual entity. That was someone that has managed to mask their identity from the visual implant. Basically a "hacker"

  • That is a future I don't want to be a part of.

  • Kaye Ting

shit, this is a present I want no part of either.

  • BMan56

They've had this in Japan for years now...

  • Étienne Pelletier

    why would anyone want this?

  • The Magnificent Newtboy

Really nicely done, and potentially quite realistic

  • Bling Nye

Good god, no fucking thank you.

Although this does explain "crazy people" hearing and seeing shit. Just give a crazy person one of these to wear (working or not) and no one would think they're crazy or even look at them twice again.
