Skyscraper's Outdoor Glass Slide From 70th To 69th Floor

March 2, 2016

high-glass-slide.jpg

This is a rendering of the Skyslide, a glass slide that will connect the 70th and 69th floors of the U.S. Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles. The slide, part of $50-million in renovations to the current tallest building in L.A., will sit 1,000-feet above street level and cost $8 to ride. Personally, I will be saving my $8. And not because I'm scared, but because the slide looks way too safe. I like to live dangerously. Maybe if the glass were cracked or the whole thing was filled with venomous snakes. "You're scared." I am terrified.

8 dollars to go down one floor? I'll take the stairs for free

    69. Ha!

  • That's $8 plus the $25 to get up to the observation deck in the first place.

i wonder if its hot as hell in there. will I burn my ass off?

Why these aren't mandatory on all skyscrapers accessible from all floors is beyond me. It'd serve as a cool fire escape. A fun ride. And be a tiny bit green and planet saving from less elevator use.

8$ to ride and my life insurance won't cover... nice!

    $8?

    ...I say give 'em a buck-two-five.
