This is a video explaining why cockroaches are so hard to squash, and how scientists are studying them to build better robots. I don't like cockroaches or robots, so this is all just terrible news to me. Also, why the hell is a cockroach squashing machine a real thing? Can you believe that's somebody's job? PETA is going to have a field day with this. Did you know cockroaches can squeeze through holes less than a third their body height? That makes me hate them even more. That also might explain why there are so many in my kitchen. You ever barefoot stepped on a cockroach in the middle of the night on your way to the fridge for some chocolate milk? I need to accept that my place is a shithole.
Hit the jump for everything you didn't care to know about roaches.
Thanks to Michael B, who is trying to train cockroaches to retrieve the loose change from the couch cushions of neighbor's apartments. Wait, what?
