500,000 Piece LEGO Death Star At Legoland Windsor

This is a shot and video of the 9-foot LEGO Death Star exhibit built at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort in the UK. The Death Star contains over 500,000 bricks, weighs 1,900 pounds, and took 15 builders over three months to complete. When the display opens March 11th visitors will be able to trigger special light and sound effects, and watch a squadron of X-wings and TIE fighters fly around the Death Star engaged in battle. And you know how I feel about doing battle. I love it. It is one of my life's passions. I also collect little porcelain cats on the windowsill in the kitchen because, SURPRISE: I am your grandma. You don't visit enough. Your sister told me it was because you said my house smells. I made cookies and now they're stale.

Keep going for a video of the installation.

Thanks to Dougie DD, who built a much smaller LEGO Death Star. Okay technically that's just one grey brick.

Meh, looks lame. The ships are the wrong scale. Maybe they should have used a few more pieces to make the Death Star look bigger.

So i'm assuming the laser beams light up green. I was annoyed at first that they appeared grey.

    Scale is all off. 3/10

...all that time and effort and they couldn't make the superlaser green?

Ooooooooh, I was fooled by the screen cap. It's actually a flashing LED! Nice!
