How To: Turn Your Phone Into a Holographic Projector

August 4, 2015

This is a short video tutorial showing you how to turn your smartphone (sorry, no dumb phones or pagers) into a holographic projector. All you really need are a couple pieces of plastic (you can even cut up a CD case!) and an app (like this one for iPhones and Androids) or a video (like this one) designed to display holographic images on a phone. I just made one out of paper and it didn't work. I am bad at following directions. I scored the lowest possible score on the SAT for using crayons.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to MintyStale, not the worst gum flavor, but certainly not the best either.

Am I really going to have to be the ass that calls this guy out for improperly identifying the trapezoid he has drawn as a rhombus? Somebody has to. There are enough positive posts already.

Help me Geekwan Kenologie, you're my only hope.

  • Ohhhhh maaan, I'm doing this when I get back from vacation :D

  • Pretty Neat stuff,
You should check out this news blog that's sorta like this one http://www.geekandnerdcultu...

Why would we do that when your last post was 2 months ago? Geekologie may be slow, but at least they get things posted within a week. And here's a tip: "Movies" and "Comics" don't have an apostrophe in it...

Tip, use that same metal ruler to score the plastic with the backside of the blade rather than tediously (as well as more dangerous) trying to cut with the sharp edge using pressure. You will get a much cleaner edge at a fraction of the time.

here's a visual reference as well.
