My Eye!: New NERF Blaster Shoots Balls At 70MPH

This is a video demo of the NERF Rival Zeus MXV 1200. It costs $50, runs on C batteries, and can shoot 12 foam balls up to 100-feet per seconds (~68MPH). It is for ages 14 and up and probably should not be pointed directly into your eyeball. Not that that's gonna stop me, but I should probably know better. Whatever happened to running around and shooting ping pong balls out of your mouth? I used to play that as a kid back before I was old enough to be worried about getting cooties.

Keep going for a video of the third next best thing to a paintball gun for a 14-year old.

Thanks to JB, who tried modifying one to shoot chocolate covered marshmallows but now it doesn't work anymore.

So soaking the balls in water, then freezing them before firing them off would be a bad thing?

  • Kanger

Might be too heavy for the spring.

  • Jonathan Perrine

So, I suspect that since it takes batteries, this blaster uses spinning wheels to accelerate...

  • ThreeMadFrogs

Pretty sure that's a Chimeran Bullseye...

  • Clampity

I wanna use that to shoot whooper malt balls

  • PUNX

can you put paintballs in the clip. If it is $50 that aint bad. some of there weaker guns are almost that price anyways

  • Leland_Gaunt

    BALLZOOKA!!!

  • Leland_Gaunt

That was also my nickname back in college! ...sigh... No, it wasn't.

  • Joel Lamm

Did they edit the foam balls coming out of the barrel, or am i just not seeing them?

  • Koolhaas

They are moving too fast for the camera to capture. You can kinda see a couple if you look far to the right

  • Bling Nye

Yeah, look around the side of your monitor.
