Universal Studios and Nintendo have just announced a partnership to bring Nintendo game themed rides and attractions to Universal Studios amusement parks. Will there be a Mario Kart ride?! There better be. Plus Metroid, Super Mario Bros, and a whole section dedicated to the Zelda franchise. Could you imagine getting to explore Hyrule Castle, Kakariko Village or The Lost Woods? I could cry.
The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal's theme parks and will feature Nintendo's most famous characters and games," stated an official release. To be clear, this isn't a full-on Nintendo theme park. Rather, Universal theme parks will create "spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo's wildly popular games, characters and worlds." In short, Nintendo-themed attractions in Universal parks.
Wait, is this -- is this what it feels like to be excited about something? I don't think I've felt this way since my 8th birthday. "18th?" EIGHTH. I got the G.I. Joe Cobra Terror Drome playset. Excitement since then has been few and far between except when friends do something stupid and hurt or embarrass themselves. "You need help." No, I need a friend to miserably crash-and-burn trying to talk to a girl at the bar tonight.
Thanks to Cameron, who agrees dreams really do come true. Nightmares too.
