It Made Me Eat It: Gingerbread Barad-dûr / Eye Of Sauron

December 19, 2014

This is the gingerbread Barad-dûr with light-up Eye of Sauron built by two Finnish engineering and computer science students. It took over 13.5-pounds of gingerbread to complete, but only one really high friend to eat half of when they had their backs turned.

Keep going for a shot of the tower being built.

Thanks again to E V I L A R E S, who, for two tips in a row on such a monumental day, gets all the gold star stickers for the rest of December. Better luck in 2015, everybody else.

Do you have a yellow/red hub also? Wait, a pale white/tan hub would be perfect actually!

OMG did they use chocolate to stick it together??! Because that looks like idea...ever - but that's a lot of time like G said to build something that would be dive bombed and eaten

  • I seriously doubt it, I'd be very surprised if chocolate could hold that much weight. I'd guess it's some kind of molasses mixture, that's what my wife uses and it looks identical to this.

  • Circuitica

I guess they use "glue" made of melted sugar.

  • MustacheHam

I'm guessing a fitting chocolate that is ever so dark.
