Geekologie I Watch Stuff The Superficial

Rest In Peace, Robin Williams

I don't really have a lot to say that hasn't already been said. Just really heartbreaking. I've been watching this Hook clip on repeat and getting a solid cry out. I also include the Ocarina of Time commercial featuring Robin and his daughter Zelda after the jump. Plus the music video for Bobby McFerrin's 'Don't Worry, Be Happy', which Robin is in. If only it were that easy. Rest in peace, Peter Pan.

I'm not much of a fan myself, but I certainly know there are lots of other "celebrities" that, had they taken his place at the end of the noose, would have done good to the world.
Hope you're in a better place man.

Mike Rowe's post on Facebook nailed it on the head for (as the reason it feels like a huge loss for me).

Very sad... I think this is the first time I have ever seen Geekowriter not make a joke. That tells ya how sad it is.

The only other time I can remember was when some kid died (maybe bullied-then-suicide?), from a few years ago. I'm drawing a blank on the details but I remember GW typed angrily and there was no funny business in the post.

Scouring the archives as we speak. I remember something like that too.

    -Stands up as well-
    Oh Captain, my Captain!

  • YES! That scene still inspires me.

At least there's no doubt that he's up there. Standing on clouds & chanting.

  • i once saw him in person on haight street. he was talking to homeless guys.
this standing on the table salute is viral. people do it to say him farewell.

A very sad day. A day later and it's still hard to believe. He made the world a better place.
