Antiques Roadshow Appraises 2008 Flatscreen Television

flatscreen-antique-appraisal.jpg

This is a video of Gizmodo writier Brian Barrett having his 2008 Toshiba flatscreen TV appraised by an Antiques Roadshow expert. Despite being a whopping six years old, expert Gary Piattoni (who is very professional) only appraises the television at around $100 (I'm not sure if that's with or without remote and cables). Will it be worth twice that in 20 years?! No. It will be in a landfill. I actually went to an Antiques Roadshow with my grandma once and tried to get her appraised. Surprisingly, for being 84 she wasn't worth much. Which is why I said I was going to the bathroom and left her there. Grandpa was pissed!

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to E V I L A R E S, who has an old CRT television worth so little nobody will even come pick it up for free on Craigslist.

Why would you waste your time AND his for something so uninteresting stupid?

I didn't know Michael Cera worked for Gizmodo!

I thought it was hilarious! Although I think $100 is way off. It's basically a paperweight without the remote.

    This must be a joke.

wtf? this guy is an idiot...

  • How did they keep a straight face? (they even have the little pointy stick thingy) This is magical.

And anyone taking this seriously needs to wipe their overly serious Napoleon Dynamite expression off their face.
