Video Of Airplane Repopulating Lake With A Fish Bomb

fish-bomb.jpg

This is a video of an airplane repopulating a Utah lake by dropping a fishy payload while flying over it. It must have been the ride of those fishes lives. OMG WHAT'S HAPPENING? WTF IS HAPPENING? OMG, OMG. HOLY SHIT WE'RE BIRDS -- WHEEEEEEEEE!! Hopefully none landed on the rocks.

Keep going for a brief video of the drop in progress.

Thanks to TC, who repopulates lakes the old fashioned way: praying to Gaia that she'll handle it.

Guess you could call that "Carp Dusting"

  • What kind of a bullshit Michael Bay scenario made this necessary? "If the lake doesn't get restocked in exactly 20 minutes the whole ecosystem will die and explode the entire planet!"

"Someone ready the Cesna... I'll call Marky Mark."

Too bad someone didn't float a Go Pro in the same lake, and simultaneously capture video of the fish raining down as they fell from the plane....

    Poor ikkle fishes

  • nickyc123

The government is trying to sneak some GMO fish into a natural source, lol

  • LittleBigFace

I hope you're joking... I HOPE LIKE FUCK YOU'RE JOKING!

  • nickyc123

I guess my sense of humor doesn't translate well via internet

  • LittleBigFace

    That's a relief!

  • GeneralDisorder

I've heard that the PA state game commission used to do a similar drop in local stocked streams except replace speeding aircraft with slow moving canoe and replace single drop by slow steady release in the wider parts of the stream.

But they don't do that anymore due to budget or laziness or lack of manpower or something.

i wonder how many stock fish they wasted being lazy...

And what's your job again? Are you part of the Game Commission? Oh? You're just some moron with anonymity and an internet connection? That makes sense.

  • LittleBigFace

Lazy, I'd like to see you driving a lorry through dense forest with no roads. They calculate these things so the fish get carried in a globule of water which disperses when it hits the water. This is always done and a good deal of the fish survive!

  • NateFried

That was the easiest way to do it? Not driving and unloading or something?

  • HackTheGibson

I didn't see a road anywhere in that video. They do that for lots of lakes and ponds within national forest where motorized vehicles aren't allowed. So if the nearest road is 250+ miles away, that might be the easiest way.

  • Bling Nye

That was the easiest coolest way to do it.

  • G8orballboy

surprised the fish could survive from a fall that high

Yeah, an helicopter could have been gentler.
