5-Foot Japanese Giant Salamander Goes For A Stroll

giant-salamander-1.jpg

This is a shot of the Japanese Giant Salamander (Ōsanshōuo) that was spotted going for a stroll on the bank of the Kamogawa River in Kyoto. The Japanese Giant Salamander is believed to be the basis of the kappa, a mythical species that looks like a cross between a salamander and a child. For reference, I would not want to stumble across any humanoid salamanders while I'm out catching frogs by the pond. Unless they can grant wishes, in which case I would trap one in a cage fashioned from bamboo and make it do my bidding. The fairy tale will all end very badly, probably with me being swallowed by a giant fish for being greedy. Are you writing all this down, Disney? Brb, I'm gonna go brainstorm on the shitter until lunch.

Keep going for a shot of two cops admiring the animal's beauty, as well as a short video of the salamander struttin' that azz.

Another Godzilla remake? They keep getting more boring every time.

  • asdfasdfasdf

basis of kappa in that it could grab a child's ankle and drown him....hopefully not in that these slimy lizards will suck out your soul through your asshole

  • Eric Hettervik

Haha, he's asking the salamander if it's ok.

  • Icehawg

Having never been to Japan, is that normal that they have "POLICE" in English across the back of their vests?

  • asdfasdfasdf

    its a total photoshop job.

  • Cy-Kill

    use google translate

  • Icehawg

Why? I know what the word police is and don't need it translated. I am asking if Japanese police use English and not Japanese.

  • Cy-Kill

i said translate, not dictionary...youll figure it out eventually.

  • Icehawg

You're a tit. I am well aware that parts of Japan are/were under the British monarchy so naturally they would have English as a language option. My question was in regards to this section of Japan (Kyoto) and whether the English on their vest was common for that area. However, thanks to your ridiculous replies I am no longer interested in the answer. Have a good day troll.

"I am well aware that parts of Japan are/were under the British monarchy"
I'm no expert on Japanese history. When/where was this?

  • Icehawg

Ugh. Troll-rage for the win. Sorry, TheOtherJK, that would be me erroneously confusing Tokyo with Hong Kong. My mistake and not just cities, but countries too.

  • Dinosaur Rex

This is just a kid being stupid.

  • Cy-Kill

    you too, buddy!

  • This is a viral ad for the new TMNT movie. Nice try Michael Bay.
