This is a video of game designer Dan "OtherDan" Emmons' analysis of the level design of Super Mario Bros World 1-1 and how perfect it is. WELL WHY DON'T YOU MARRY IT, DAN? I apologize, that was not very mature of me. I'm an adult, and I should act like one. But not if that means I can't drop my pants and underwear to my ankles at a public urinal, because I like to air my ass out. There's nothing grown up about establishing a swampy ecosystem in your pants.

    That's a pretty concise analysis, tho i disagree with the extra life location, nobody would jumps that early that high. New players would probably find that block by mistake.

    I gotta go with 'Journey' as a perfectly crafted game, not just any specific level.

    The Water Temple in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - perfectly crafted.

    If you want to look at a game that has VERY well crafted levels for easing the player into the game mechanics, go back and play Portal 1 again. Even still, I had a friend that managed to get half way through the game without understanding how portals work...

    The absolute best / most perfect level in any game I've ever played was the demo stage for Soldier of Fortune 2.

    To me, games with lots of mad speed are more likely to have perfect levels, like Nitronic Rush or ZoE2.
