Zelda's Temple Of Time Beautifully Rendered In 3-D Video

real-life-temple-of-time.jpg

This is a video created by Michael Eurek of The Legend of Zelda's Temple of Time recreated as a real-world environment. It looks beautiful, I just wish it was real. Plus that somebody would make a badass full-length Zelda movie. Come on, I'm not going to live forever. "You're practically dead already." Inside, absolutely. Per the artist himself:

Several months ago, it was suggested to me by a friend that a fun/challenging exercise would be to recreate an environment from an old game I like using modern techniques. I thought this was a great idea, so I have put together a recreation and personal adaptation of The Temple of Time from The Legend of Zelda.

The footage was captured from Unreal Engine 4. Other software used: Maya, Z-brush, Photoshop

Beautiful, right? I wished I lived in the Temple Of Time. I could just take care of it and sweep up the dust and clean the bird shit off the exterior, stuff like that. Plus I'd be willing to work for no play. "You're going to try to remove the Master Sword from its base, aren't you?" I'll jackhammer that f***er out if I have to.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Luis V and thedondon, who agree we should all pool our money and build a replica Hyrule Castle Town and live there.

Pretty shoddy temple, the altar isn't even centered. Shadows are all sorts of wrong. This is actually a pretty far from "beautifully rendered".

    But minecraft

Extremely cool but the sword in the middle of the triforce shouldn't have resolved to a cross from a top down view (at 1:50-1:51). The plinth and sword were both - not + shaped.

That's pretty damn well done, the memories it brings back...

  • iamn0one

impressive... buy why didn't anyone think to update that crappy midi track?

  • joblow

I think that the person that put this together did a good job, but I don't think as a showcase for Unreal Engine 4, that it is that impressive. Download Half Life's "Lost Coast" game from Steam... that came out years ago and the graphics are much better. Especially the part where the doors open up, that whole area looks really flat and mono-textured, like something from 10 years ago.... I think rendering and animations are way past this point already...

Honestly, lost coast is a lackluster representation of unreal 4 as well. The unreal 4 "elemental" tech demo is worlds ahead of them both, and even that's two years outdated. The thing to consider though, is that this was one persons efforts, as opposed to a well funded team's who do this for a living instead of a hobby.

IMO, this is a mash-up of Temple of Time and the (hypothetical) Temple of Light because of the golden motifs and the owls representing Rauru.

    Still, really impressive. Nice job.

A Zelda movie will come out right after they launch Half-Life 3.........so two days after never.

  • adsfasdfasdf

it already did. but nintendo said to take it down(this being the internet its still up lots of places)

  • adsfasdfasdf

you mean: I'd sweep the floors, clean birdshit from the exterior, sew larger cloths for and pierce the ears of that unconscious boy frozen holding the mastersword's hilt 4 years ago...
