Unhappily Ever After: The Sad Reality Of Disney Movie Characters In Real Life

May 6, 2014

This is Unhappily Ever After, a series of photos imagining Disney characters in real life by animator Jeff Hong. They are all depressing. Why? Because life is depressing. I'm kidding, life is beautiful. Haha, kidding again -- it really is depressing! That's why I take these pills every morning. "These are boner pills." Boners are all I have left.

Keep going for the rest.

Thanks to lilco, who agrees real happy endings only happen in seedy massage parlors.

This is what all those "re-imaginings" of cartoon characters has come down to.
You can all stop now. You hear that person-who-photoshopped-Ariel-with-tattoos?
    You hear that guy-who-drew-Tommy-Pickles-as-a-hipster?
    It's over. Stop.

  • George StClare

    What's so bad about Simba?

  • ibarra

judging by the ears, it looks more like nala

  • Craig Corlis

He's in a zoo, imprisoned. If you look closely you can tell the background is just a painted backdrop.

  • asdfasdfasdf

imprisoned? or granted political asylum from the hamlet style bullshit?

  • asdfasdfasdf

or for warcrimes from eating the hyennas and regular crimes for the brutal reign of slaughtering the children of his loyal zebra subjects(but its totally legit cause when the lions die after a long life the zebra get to eat the flowers from their grave)?

anyone notice that bambi's mother is in the picture with him? lol

  • Guest

    bambi's mother is a transvestite?

  • sybarite

I think this is going a bit to the extreme!

  • Fercho

    Disney. Next!

  • Frédéric Purenne

Mickey Mouse in a lab; Sleeping Beauty in a coma in the ICU; the Three Caballeros making a dime in a cheap Mexican restaurant; The 101 dalmatians being picked up by PETA to never be taken care of afterward; Alladin being homeless on his carpet on the pavement scratching a loto ticket titled "The magic lamp".

The Aristocats... mmmhhh, I think they don't need a change of scenery for that one.

  • Daniel Carlson

    LMAO that was awesome

  • Craig Corlis

That's the darkest one of them all, I think. At least, if she's facing the aftermath of what I think she is.
