Nowhere To Run, Nowhere To Hide: A Firenado

This is a photo of a firenado recently captured by Instagrammer nicejalepeno (I prefer evilhabaneros) while traveling through Chillicothe, Missouri. Apparently a farmer was burning off one of his fields when the wind whipped up a fire whirl. Previously: video of this one caught in Australia. Speaking of -- do you think firenados rotate the opposite way in Australia than they do in the northern hemisphere like toilets flushing? Is that toilet flushing thing even true? I don't know, sadly I've never traveled to the southern hemisphere. Mostly because I'm terrifying of falling off earth. 'Just stay on top' my gut keeps telling me.

Thanks to Bri, who once summoned a fire tornado in battle but it scared all the horses and the battle had to be called a tie. That sucks.

That's half of Captain Planet right there.

GW, that toilet-flushing myth was debunked a long time ago. Turns out it's just how the local manufacturers design them.

Well, nothin' to see here, folks. Move along, move along, fires out. Time to go home, clear the area, nothin' to see here. Fire's (gone) out.

The picture has been eaten by the internet.

  • Of course... Australia got them first.

Cool picture. I came hoping there was a video.
