All The Rage: Dogs Dyed To Look Like Panda Bears

chinese-panda-dogs-1.jpg

This isn't actually a new concept, I reported on panda and tiger dogs back in 2010, they're just making the rounds again because apparently people in China can't get enough dogs that don't look like dogs. Man, I want a dog with its hair cut to look like a lion. I take that back -- I want an actual lion. 'ROAR?!' Hell yes you eat visitors!

Hsin Ch'en, who owns an animal store in Chengdu city in southwest China's Sichuan province, said he was struggling to meet demand [for chows groomed and dyed to look like pandas].

'...the look will stay with the dog for around six weeks and the owners bring them back for some touching up.'

He added the animals were not subjected to any chemical treatments during the process and were not harmed in any other way.

My dogs have always looked like complete wrecks and I have always loved them unconditionally. Even when they've shat on a roommate's bed. Actually, ESPECIALLY when they shat've on a roommate's bed. I had to act like I was upset, but deep down, I wish it had been me squatting on that Batman comforter.

Keep going for a couple more shots.

Thanks to Michelle, who wants a dog that looks like a cat and a cat that looks like a dog and she wants to name them frog and fishy.

Considering this is China we're talking about, I reeeeally don't trust the "no harmful chemicals" thing...

DAMMIT HUMANITY, Why can't you be happy with the incredible variety nature has already provided us with? If you want a frickin' panda, GET A FRICKIN' PANDA. They should be domesticated anyway considering they can't take care of themselves. Either that or let them go extinct.

They just want these dogs to show off as if they did it themselves.. compliment fishing. I don't know if there's safe black and white dye or if they can just barely get away with calling it safe. I know some people use beet juice to dye their dogs pink and that's safe.

Can't we just genetically engineer them to look like this already!?

    Fur dye is so 2010.
