New Star Wars Takes Place 30 Years After Original Trilogy

star-wars-episode-7.jpg

Note: Surprisingly not the official artwork, fan-art by Robert Shane.

Star Wars Episode VII start shootings in May and be released in theaters on December 18, 2015. The story will pick up some 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. What happened in those 30 years? Apparently nothing worth making a movie about. At least not until they finish this trilogy and backtrack again for Star Wars Episode X: The Wonder Years. Just like I did for all the disappointing prequels, I will be watching these on opening day, dressed in character. Which character remains to be seen, but I'm leaning towards Data or Worf.

Thanks to everyone who sent this, I would name you all individually but you're going to have to work a little bit harder for a shoutout next time.

    Boomer bucks are big business.

The children of Skywalker and Solo will be enemies.

  • Jovan Nel

Theyre not actually, Ben Skywalker really mellow like dad and he has fight with Jacen Solo only after he turns way dark, Jaina Solo too wrapped up in her own shit to have a enemy

  • Lame... we've arlready seen the stories in the expanded universe. At least they could skip to the solo twins are mara before she became good. Hell... even the force unleashed would make a good movie over the orginal cast!!! Isn't chewbaca dead in future???

  • Jovan Nel

So 30 years ABY. Spoilers ahead!!

Chewbacca is dead, Han and Leia have 3 kids, Luke is married to sith assassin, Lando is still Lando :) This is if they dont rewrite the whole extended universe

  • OrehRatiug

I'm pretty sure Disney discarded all of the extended universe, books and all.

  • Jovan Nel

Not necessarily, 30 Years ABY is after new jedi order which was a major part of extended universe. Its also inbetween two periods where there is nothing written, its after new jedi order and before dark nest so technically they can do whatever in that period but if they throw out new jedi order theyll have to make up alot of stuff in movie to account for backstory, why not use what they already have?

  • OrehRatiug

I suppose, Disney has claimed it is hacking away at a lot of the expanded universe, but what exactly remains unknown as far as I can tell and find.

  • Jovan Nel

Lol, honestly I dont mind either way, still gonna watch and buy movies because its Star Wars and I like the universe. Not like im gonna throw away my EU books because theyre no longer canon.
