50,000+ People Playing Single Game Of Pokemon At Once

internet-playing-pokemon.jpg

This is a screenshot from Twitch.tv, where right now more than 50,000 people are in a chatroom controlling a single game of Pokemon Red by entering controller input into the chat window (up, down, left right, B, A, select, start). It's beautiful, beautiful chaos. I just watched for twenty minutes and literally nothing got done except to save the game 400 times.

Follow the link in the article to go play for yourself. It's the pink words. In the first sentence.

Thanks to odd666, Lee, Justin, Chili01 and kilayi, who agree repeatedly entering the Konami code might not be the best way to beat Pokemon.

There are Comments.
  • I played for a bit. Was so chaotic I think it'll take months to finish the last parts that require precision. Partly because of all the trolls purposely trying to screw everything up, but mostly because there's 50,000+ people trying to force inputs at the same time.

Even funnier once you know that those commands are also mirrored into a game of Tetris: http://www.twitch.tv/xkeeper_
