Man Escapes From Burning Home, Returns To Save X-Box

xbox-fire-rescue.jpg

In a heroic act of idiot bravery, a Kansas man returned to his burning home to save his XBox. No word if the rest of his family survived. Also, there's no mention in the article whether it was an XBox One or 360. Would you risk your life for a previous generation console? Me? I'd risk my life for a phone charger.

We're happy to report that both exited the fire-stricken property safely, though reports suggest the man came off worse, as he had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire caused damage estimated at $80,000

Hey, everyone's got their priorities. If your house was on fire and you could only save one thing, what would it be? I mean, besides family members or pets. Your computer? A box of photos? I think I would save myself -- sexually. Ain't no house fire putting a baby up in this ass! "Huh?" Beats me.

Thanks to Thaylor H, who agrees this man should probably not pursue a career in emergency services.

I would've let my old console burn, let my old TV burn, let my old PC burn. Then tell to the insurance company that I had a PS4 with one of those giant 4K sony TV's, an overly priced luxery seat, and a brand new computer. But all the paperwork was somehow 'destroyed' in the fire.

I wouldn't care about the rest of the house. That can be replaced in time.

  • I understand this primal need to save ones console. Girlfriends and family can be replaced. But games saves and the feel of a well worn controller? When they're gone...they're gone forever.
