Video Of NASA's Pumpkin Carving Contest Entries

nasa-pumpkin-carving-contest.jpg

NASA: they sent men to the moon (allegedly). So how does all that brainpower stack up in a pumpkin carving contest? Apparently really well, because a lot of these things are nuts. There's a Nautilus fish tank in a pumpkin, a Death Star scene, a chesbursting gourd, several Mars rover inspired pumpkins, a couple skulls (including one that was carved using a homemade polygraph movement duplicator), a pumpkin with a top half that climbs around on top of the bottom half -- you name it. Just don't name too many more than those.

Keep going for the video. Then Halloween is over and it's time to start thinking about Thanksgiving.

Thanks to Stephen, who I thought was a Stephen I went to college with at first but turned out to be a different one. This one's probably cooler anyways.

Where did they get the funding for this? The NSA wants to know.

I assume from the same place 'best costume' winners get theirs. From their own pockets.

Engineers don't normally get out much but when they do, they know how to have fun.
