Which Way Is Up?: MC Escher's 'Relativity' Built In LEGO

mc-escher-relativity-in-lego.jpg

This is a 3-D recreation of MC Escher's iconic 'Relativity' built in LEGO (six years ago: this one) by Riccardo Zengelmi using 9,000 blocks over the course of 15 days. It kind of hurt my brain to look at for so long. It also kind of hurt my brain to chug both those beers without stopping, but you know what? It's Friday afternoon, it's warm out, and I have to go straight to therapy after work.

Thanks to carey, who had a dream she could walk on the ceiling. Well it's not as cool as flying, but it still beats all your teeth falling out.

    Oooo! It's "Crazy Stairs!"

My favorite MC Escher song since "Hands Drawing Each Other" and "Tesselating Fish Turning Into Birds (What!?!? Remix)"

So what's special about this one if it's been done 6 years ago? (not that I would be able to do it myself, mind you)
