Finally, A Decent Bulletproof Couch/Gun Safe Combo

bulletproof-couch-gun-safe.jpg

This is the CouchBunker (previously: the BedBunker), a $6,700 couch with a 30-rifle gun safe hidden beneath and optional bulletproof seat cushions in case of emergency. Each cushion will set you back an additional $500 if you want them bulletproofed though, so don't bother getting the ones your roommates sit on done.

Imagine a fire-rated gun safe hidden inside a custom built couch, with bullet proof cushions with carry straps, so they can be used on the fly as a shield. Now there is one.

CouchBunker™ patent pending, is available in a wide range of styles, leather and fabric coverings creating choices from game room casual to living room formal.

The optional bullet resistant cushions, serving as portable, personal shields, will stop a 44 Magnum at point blank range.

I keep a gun taped inside the toilet tank in the bathroom. Mostly because in the event of a break in that's probably where I'll be. Truthfully, in the event of almost anything happening that's probably where I'll be. It's where I like to spend my time. One time my little sister asked if I was at hospital when she was born and I told her NOPE, AT HOME ON THE SHITTER. I told her that's how I'm gonna spend all her birthdays too. *knocking* Oh I'm sorry, do you need to use the bathroom, Becky? *opening door* Go ahead -- I left a present in there for you (she's gonna turn out great).

Thanks to Chelsea, who's holding out for a bulletproof dining room set.

Wow, I saw the heading "bulletproof couch/gun safe combo" and had to see this. That's a pretty nice looking couch, but then there's a security safe for your guns as well. That looks very innovative! I'm assuming since it's bulletproof & waterproof, someone could also store other valuables in that. How many movers does it take to haul something like that into a house? http://www.amlock.com.au/safes

Even if it is Photoshopped, I think it's a good idea. I would love to keep my guns in my couch. No one would know! Who would expect you to have guns in your couch. I really doubt it's comfortable, but it would give you a lot of support! http://www.wholesalesuperstore.com.au/gun-safes/cat_36.html

I honestly wouldn't have thought to put a safe in a couch like that, much less a gun safe. It seems like that would be a great way to hide pretty much any kind of safe, though I'm not sure that the bulletproof cushions would be totally necessary. I'd definitely consider getting something like this just to store valuables.

Wow, this has got to be one of the best ideas for gun safe location that I have ever seen. Having an actual gun safe built into your couch seems like it is incredibly discreet. I bet it would be a lot of work to move it around though. Those gun safes can be pretty heavy pieces of equipment. I would be totally sold if this couch had wheels that came with it.

I would love to have a gun safe like this. I have always thought that tradition safes were too noticeable. I just need get comfortable with the fact that I'm watching movies on a pile of guns.

I wonder how comfortable that couch is. I think it's a great idea to make your safes into an every day item, don't you? People are much less likely to look there.

I appreciate you sharing this! I've been looking for some quality safes in Toronto, and this gave me some great insight of what to look for. Thanks for sharing!

Hidden safes (for weapons or otherwise) are the best. Keeping .an unhidden safe often attracts idiots/theives ... since they see you have a safe they just assume you have great valuables. This way, you can keep the safe hidden, and you can take it with you when/if you move (unlike wall safes - the typical hidden safe).

Throwing in some kevlar coushins is extra smart. This is a great piece for some in very susceptible neighborhoods.

As a soldier, we had a hidden compartment in our bunks & cots to store ammo/weapons safely. This is the same idea, but locked securely with a waterproof, fireproof, and airtight secure lock. Great piece. I'll buy it when/if we need to move instead of installing another wall safe for our hunting and self protection weapons.

You keep a weapon INSIDE the toilet tank?! Hope it's in a few airtight baggies and not loaded..... or you have huge problems and/or no defense against any intruder.

"It's not comfortable to sit on, but you can rest easy knowing your family is safe."

There's the advertising tagline. You're welcome, gun safe/couch manufacturer.

  • The biggest question is....Does it come in pink? Cuz...for reasons ... I have a vagina. I like PInk. stfu

  • Lucky! I hear those things are awesome.

That's the worst mock up in photoshop I've ever seen. Seems like the designers don't understand how couch cushons even work. Would you really trust them with your life?

  • Vulpes

Why do people always immediately start screaming 'Photoshop!'. Clearly in the second picture the cushions have been taken off the couch, and the actual safe is underneath a single sheet of material, which has been folded back.
What the hell do you need an ugly couch full of guns for though?

  • shojobakunyu

The point is that everyone knows what is in the big safe in the basement, but it's doubtful that anyone looking to rob your place is going to rip apart the couch. I wish the couch were a bit more attractive, but I like the IDEA. Why do you have to be a dick?

With a "patent pending...bullet resistant...cushion." Let's all just marinate in that for a few.
