This is the baby stroller built by Czech car manufacturer Škoda and designed specifically for dads to push around. Apparently a lot of dads didn't feel manly enough pushing around regular baby strollers, and wanted something a little more substantial. Wow, did any of you ever stop to think, gee, a miniature human THAT I HELPED CREATE just came out of my wife's vagina, maybe now isn't the best time to be worried about manliness? Now you go buy that pink stroller your wife wanted and push the hell out of it. High five, ladies, I care!
[Škoda] surveyed 1,000 British dads and found that more than three-quarters would spend more time pushing their babies around if they had a higher spec baby stroller. About a third say they were embarrassed pushing regular strollers around. So, the company went about building something more their speed, including popularly cited "wish list" features.
Designed to be "fit for a king," the VRS Mega Man-Pram is an imposing four-wheeled baby cart that doesn't look like anything you've seen around the city park. It rides on 20-inch wheels surrounded by all-terrain rubber and packs plenty of car-like tech for dad to geek out on, including hydraulic suspension, wing mirrors, oversized brake calipers, brake lights and a headlamp for night walks.
Hey -- I'd let you push me around in that thing. You could even push me down a hill, I don't care. Actually -- I encourage it. Because if you remember in 'Hook', that's how Peter Pan gets separated from his mom and taken to Neverland by Tinkerbell, AND I WANT TO GO TO NEVERLAND. No lie, if Tinkerbell asked me right now if I'd be willing to go to Neverland but could never return to earth to see any of my friends or family again I would already be jumping off the top of my apartment building.
Hit the jump for a couple more shots of the ridiculousness plus a bonus wack-ass commercial for one of Škoda's cars.
Thanks to PANX, baby daddy and Andrew L, who agree that dude would look a whole lot cooler pushing that thing with short shorts and roller skates on.
