I'm In: Shooting Fireworks Matrix 'Bullet Time' Style

fireworks-in-matrix-bullet-time.jpg

Because the 4th of July is right around the corner (literally, I saw it poke its head around and scream 'FREEDOM AND BEER!') here's a video of a guy shooting off a bunch of different fireworks in slow motion 'bullet time' while the camera pans around him. Man, I love fireworks. Especially shooting them off by hand because that makes them even more dangerous and the amount of danger is directly proportional to the amount of fun you're going to have with them. Not that I'm encouraging kids to play with fireworks -- that would be irresponsible of me. I'm just saying if an ADULT wants to risk a potential hospital visit, that should be PART OF THE FREEDOM WE'RE HERE TO CELEBRATE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Now if you'll excuse me *jams Roman candle between buttcheeks, lights* ♫ GOD BLESS AMERICAAAAAAAAAA ♫

Hit the jump for the video, but follow the link in the article to see how they made it (which may or may yes involve mounting a Go-Pro to a ceiling fan).

Thanks to Jeremiah W, the man behind the video, who should totally come film GW's 2013 Fourth of July Fireworks Fiasco.

    "FREEDOM AND BEER"

    not to be confused with

    "FREE BEER AND DOOM"

  • While I can appreciate this dudes bravado and amount of fucks given shooting fire spraying projectiles right into a bunch of trees... they're being pretty liberal with the whole bullet time term. Seems like 240fps should have another term like "punch-fist time" or "rock-throw time"... or something else that you can pretty much already see at normal speed.
