Smart Thinking: Man Runs Across Lava Flow In Sneakers

running-across-lava.jpg

Presumably to prove he's got the biggest balls amongst his colleagues, this is a short video of a dude running across a 1,500°F (~850°C) lava flow in nothing but his sneakers. When reached for comment, a lady answered the phone and informed me this guy died months ago.

Hit the jump for the video.

Thanks to Marc, who's run across lava barefooted before and has the missing legs to prove it.

    Can't fault his courage.

Imagine tripping over a lump of molten rock, only to block your fall with your hands..

    Don't mistake stupidity for courage.

There's a bunch of dead people in Pompey going "Aw shit why didn't I think of that"

  • Anon the Mouse

As a Pompeian survivor I take serious offense to that. We had only thin sandles, and our toga's dragging through the lava proved to be quite a bother. :c

Thankfully someone in a weird blue box pulled me from the ashes just in time.

  • Holy shit, do you see the flames coming off his boots the last few steps? That last one at 0:08 was no joke.

  • Michael Knight

would have been better if his foot would have gone through up to about his knee... oh, how i would have laughed at that.

  • Frédéric Purenne

The part I really hate is if that really happened, they wouldn't put it on youtube... Which is a shame because apparently we need videos like that.

they will just end up on 4chan
