Vietnam's $85-Million Fire-Breathing Dragon Bridge

This is series of photographs (plus a video) of Vietnam's recently completed $85-million Dragon Bridge, which spans the Han River in the port city of Da Nang. The color changing dragon lights up thanks to 15,000 Philips LEDs and can even breath fire and water from its mouth. Not bad. The bridges around here? Pretty boring, plus most have homeless people living underneath of them. "BRIDGE TROLLS." Okay now you're just being insensitive.

Hit the jump for a bunch more shots and a video of the bridge breathing fire to the OH's and AH's of bystanders.

Thanks to Grillonic, who's going to bungee cord off that thing and catch a fish with his bare hands.

So the ulterior motive to have made this thing was to dissuade Godzilla from ever coming near their humble abode, or to give the Loch Ness monster an equivalent blowup doll?

I really think the lights should pulse a color from the back end of the dragon to the mouth and when the pulse of light hits the mouth that's when the fireball comes out. I think it would have added a bit more show to it. Maybe they couldn't do it due to distractions though? Although having a fireball being shot out of the middle of a bridge seems like distraction enough if you ask me.
