Scary: First Person POV Of Riding A 15-Foot Tall Bicycle

April 25, 2013

Seen here practicing for the circus, Richie Trimble provides us with a first-person view of what it's like to ride his nearly 15-foot "Stoopidtall Bike'. The bike measures 12-feet to the pedals and 14.5 to the seat. That's high. Almost as high as you'd have to be to think a 15-foot bike is a good idea. That said, I would ride it on the sidewalk if both sides of the sidewalk were pools. *comes back covered in blood-soaked bandages* That said, I would ride it on the sidewalk if both sides of the sidewalk were pools WITHOUT SHARKS IN THEM.

Hit the jump for the video and a couple pictures. Also, I swear I saw this guy riding that thing around Silver Lake when I was eating gelato.

Thanks to hammer, who really needs to focus on hitting the nails and not my fingers.

  • Deksam

I was watching to see if he fell over.

  • Dani

This bike could be practical if you lived at the 2nd floor.

  • Guest

A bike that Dr. Seuss would be happy to see.

  • SilverX2

the guy looks like he smells like pee.

  • 4 minute junk shot in blue leopard girl pants.. Just what I needed.

  • lordpikachu

    now do a wheelie

  • p_shep

Awesome!. Man, Love to have seen that thing. Sadly moved away from LA around the last Ciclavia and missed that one too :(

  • dunch

You have to be a real shithead to go riding around on something like that. He is obviously disobeying the rules of the road because he can't stop moving or he will fall. Hipster trash on ridiculous bikes make my city dangerous to commute in for everyone. You are not equal if you can't be held to the same standards. As entertaining as this might be, it's really just another hipster trying to be ironic and cool at the expense of practicality and safety.

  • Anodos

And whats the deal with having a batmobile? In THIS fuel economy? Have some responsibility people. That Bat costume can put someones eye out.

  • Billy Rocka

If you live in and or around the city/cities that he was cruising, chances are its already dangerous. Highly.

  • John Huan Vu

At least one guy has to rattle off the standard bike-hater canards regardless of context, that much is known.

  • p_shep

It was at a massive cycling event in down town Los Angeles where the streets are closed to traffic.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, you can clearly see in the video that he pulls right into several active intersections. Even the screen cap for the article is from one of those moments. You can see homeboy yell to everyone at around 1:35 that he is making a right turn because he can't stop. I'm not convinced you even watched the video before rushing to curse at me.

  • Billy Rocka

How can you see him yell? I heard him yell but not see since he was wearing the cam and he was warning the other bikes while making a "wide right turn." You can see that, at this moment in the video he went right into the right hand of the lane only to cut bikers off.

  • atticus99

looks to me like he has some outriders too eg the guy in the big white hat. I think that is who he's talking to at 1:35.

hipster bikes are definitely the most dangerous thing on our roads.

  • Blind Willie

    You're not wrong, you're just a dick.

  • atticus99

I bet you're fun at parties.

  • taran420

As cool as it was, I was thinking the same thing as I was watching it.

  • Vlad

  • Man I love that bike. The fisheye really makes the other tall bikes look tiny.
