Where's Mine?!: Father Builds X-Wing Bunkbed For Son Complete With Cockpit For Watching Flatscreen TV

x-wing-bed-1.jpg

This is the X-wing fighter bunkbed built by DarthDaddy42 for his very lucky son (not to be confused with this Y-wing bunkbed featured earlier). It has moveable wings, lights, an R2-D2 copilot cooler for juice boxes, and a cockpit with buttons & switches and a flatscreen TV for watching DVDs. I know they say you shouldn't be jealous of three-year olds, but I am and I can't help it. I sleep on a mattress on the floor. An air mattress. It deflated long ago but I still sleep on it because I like to pretend all the carpet is lava.

Hit the jump for a bunch more shots while I bang my head on my keyboard.

Thanks to Alli, marcus, slam the sham and Christian, who told me they all had race car beds growing up to make me jealous. It worked.

This is a Star Wars themed nursery created by Carissa XY and omooney for their son (and future Jedi) James. It kind of made me wish I had a themed bedroom, which I guess I kind of do provided messy is a theme. My dirty clothes pile is so big I mistakenly slept in it a couple... / Continue →

This is a legit looking AT-AT bunkbed. I'm not sure who made it, but I just searched Craigslist to see if it was for sale and came up with nothing. I did read a couple funny Missed Connections though. One about a dude who fell in love with the barrista at Starbucks. Here's a... / Continue →

This is the AT-AT bunk bed Geekologie reader Derek recently made for his four-year old son. As you can see, the kid looks pretty damn happy with it. And why wouldn't he be? I slept in the garage on a pile of hay growing up and if I ever complained, my sister, who was sleepin... / Continue →

Great job on the construction and all, but I guess he likes to endanger his kid by making him have to avoid smacking his head on the underside of the thing upon waking. That sleeping space is way too low. The kids hairstyle is bad too.

  • Paul Bleemstra

Exactly, they should have just aborted him instead.

  • Man that's going to be cool when he's a teenager

  • Meh

I was jealous of this kid up until I saw that last pic. Sure he has a badass bunkbed, but in return he is forced to wear one of those fauxdouchehawk haircuts.

  • way to make all the other kids hate their dads

  • God

He should hook up Rogue Squadron or better yet, old school x-wing!
