Because fact-checking is for people who don't have GOOD GUT INSTINCTS, a Danish news station recently displayed a rendering of Damascus from Assassin's Creed instead of the current Damascus skyline like they intended. I've since been fired from my position as head picture finder.
One of the TV channel's employees had found the image online and thought it was a photo of Damascus' skyline.
[TV2 Head of News Jacob] Nybroe says it was a terrible mistake and a "reminder to us all of the importance of verifying the sources of pictures."
I'm sorry, but I didn't know we needed a reminder of the importance of verifying the sources of pictures, I thought that was supposed to be COMMON PRACTICE FOR A NEWS OUTLET. That said, I'm afraid to look but I uploaded a cat pic, didn't I?
Thanks to Patty, who is is a saint and has a celebration coming up on Sunday. No? Different Patty? Well how was I supposed to know?
