My Answer's Beep Boop!: An R2-D2 Engagement Ring

r2-engagement-ring.jpg

This is the R2-D2 themed engagement ring designed by Joe for his girlfriend Emily, who he met when they were both working at the same tattoo shop. The ring was brought to life by Paul Mitchell Design and the folks at CustomMade. PREPARE TO CRY YOUR EYES OUT (just kidding -- well, maybe):

Every year on Halloween [the people at the shop] get all geeked out in costume and work. This year, I had gotten the ring the day before... It wasn't my original plan, but seemed to all fall into place. Emily dressed up as Lucy Van Pelt from Peanuts and asked me to couple up and go as Charlie Brown. So, as we all gathered for a photo in front of the shop I started to ramble a bit and then popped the question. I wanted to share the moment with the parties responsible... I know it would have been better in Star Wars gear, but that might have compromised the bigger picture. Even though Charlie Brown proposing to Lucy is still kind of a fun thing too. Yes, we are also Peanuts geeks! I rock a Linus tattoo and also have the G.I. Joe sleeping bag from my childhood that I still use nightly. There are many levels of geek not only in this story but also in our lives.

*sobbing* SO BEAUTIFUL. It's just so beautiful. Maybe it's just the bottle and a half of wine I had for lunch talking, but I am in the midst of a GOOD CRY right now. Snot bubbles, you name it. "Whimpering?" LIKE A DOG. "Eyes all bloodshot?" LIKE I'M ON BATH SALTS. "You're not actually ON bath salts are you?" I DON'T KNOW WHAT I SMOKED.

Hit the jump for a bunch more shots.

Thanks to Zack, who heard of a guy who wanted to propose with a C-3PO ring but his girlfriend caught wind of it and broke up with him. No kidding -- C-3PO? It was the right thing to do.

This is the custom D-20 engagement ring that Babelglyph had crafted to propose to her girlfriend after a Dungeons and Dragons gaming session. I was married before, have I told you that? Apparently I only rolled a two for 'years before the strumpet leaves you for somebody else... / Continue →

Because these days you risk being rejected and dying confused and alone if you propose with some plain-ass engagement ring, Redditor DisturbedRobot (not cool, bro) had a custom Battlestar Galactica Cylon ring made for his bride-to-be, Amy. And, because the ring had such a swee... / Continue →

I never watched Starwars but I kinda like the R2-D2 things on this site! Bathing suit, skirt, etc

    You should fucking kill yourself.

  • agatha

What a foul mouth, wash it! Sicko!!

And you know why I haven't seen it?! Well I don't watch it because it's the most told ending ever. I know the end, and when there is a (not funny) joke in a comedy it's always the I'm your father crap. And George Lucas made so many remakes, digital remasterd, etc. That I always think pass..
