Bugasalt, A Salt-Shooting Gun For Downing Flying Insects

salt-shooting-fly-gun.jpg

Damn muscles, maybe you should be punching those flies!

This is a promo video for Bugasalt, a plastic shotgun that shoots a pinch of salt to kill flying insects. Plus it's way funner than using a fly-swatter. Personally, I like to clap flies with my bare hands, but that's just me and I'm nasty and will make a sandwich immediately afterwards without washing.

A miniaturized shotgun effect is generated through this ingenious design. Ordinary table salt is utilized as a lethal projectile with accuracy range of 3 to 5 feet. Bugs will remain whole for easy clean up.

The gun is currently an Indiegogo crowd-funding project but already met its pledge goal. You can still preorder one for $30 though. Admittedly, I'll probably be picking one up. And not just because my apartment has a fly problem, but also for sandwich making. Can it also shoot pepper and other condiments? One blogger plans to find out!

Hit the jump for a worthwhile video of the thing in action. Mmmm, I love salt on my Jello!

Thanks to SPC Morris, who kills flying insects the old fashioned way: he doesn't. Then they bite us and we all get malaria. The end.

You know how they say people look like their dogs? That's because most people are ugly (alternatively: pugly). I don't look anything like my dog. I look like something Michelangelo would have carved out of marble with a diamond dong, and she looks like she's licking her vaj ... / Continue →

This is a video of some tradeshow in Germany where a company released flies with advertisements attached to them like those little planes at the beach. It's pretty awesome and really got me thinking about hiring mosquitoes to start promoting Geekologie. And by promoting Geeko... / Continue →

This is a series of cookie cutters from SUCK UK that create little dinosaur body parts that can be assembled into 3-D dino cookies AND JAMMED DOWN MY PIEHOLE. I'm going to eat so many I puke and pass out! Then do it again when I wake up. Or, should I say, IF I wake up. I mi... / Continue →

I kind of love this toy... I got mine from: http://www.domyownpestcontrol....
And it has filled my life and the lives of those around me with utter joy :)
I spend hours trying to find new uses for the gun. Some include scaring the cat away, salting the driveway when it snows, spicing my food when I cook and occasionally I kill a fly or tow with it. I'm going to start experimenting with different fine grains other than salt to see what kind of shenanigans I can ensue! Any suggestions? (Also, for the love of Cthulhu, DON'T SHOOT ANYONE IN THE FACE OR EYES WITH THIS!)

Anyone else think this would be really useful against Demons and Ghosts? No more need to make salt filled shotgun shells! Send Sam and Dean a pair!

I would totally load this with Emeril's essences spices.

    BAM!

  • Am I the only one who had the initial thought of, "But now there's going to be salt all over my place!" I guess sacrifices must be made.

So awesome that he had a random idea and made it happen. Might get one of these.

I would gladly wield this weapon in the war on flying insects, it seems like a pump action arisoft gun made to shoot salt, wich is pretty neat to say the least; would be nice if it had a slightly better range, but for $30 noones complaining, I just hope it can nuke mosquitos and maybe wasps?
