Captain America Cake With American Flag Interior

captain-america-cake-1.jpg

This is a badass Captain America themed cake made by Tumblr-er LoveandLotsofSugar for her son's 4th birthday. As you can see (and the title I wrote clearly states), it has an American flag interior. Me? I'm all blood and guts on the inside. You? You're full of hot air. "Shit!" YES -- hot air and shit. You'd make one hell of a nasty blimp, I'll tell you that right now.

Hit the jump for several more worthwhile shots, including some of the clever build process.

Thanks to Tam, who made a Red Skull cake with real skulls on the inside and everybody at the party got freaked out even though they were just skulls he found in a bear cave and made sure to wash them first and everything.

This is a 6'4", 300-pound (just like me!) Stormtrooper cake made by Amanda Oakleaf Cakes for the Arisia Sci-Fi Convention in Boston. He provided over 600 servings, significantly more than an Ewok cake would have. Plus less hair. Nobody likes eating hair. Except my cat. God... / Continue →

This is the realistic looking zombie cake created by the Artisan Cake Company of Portland, Oregon. It's not really cake though, the body was made out of Rice Krispies (or possibly store-brand Crispy Rice), then covered with a modeling chocolate skin and a shredded fondant shir... / Continue →

I would have never thought a child to have Captain America as an idol hero. U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.S.R!! Oops what?

Nicely done. The Cap exterior is cool, but the American flag design inside is really clever.
