Full-Scale Anesthesia Machine Made Out Of LEGO

lego-anesthesia-1.jpg

On the right, a real anesthesia machine. On the left, a full-scale 30,000-piece replica made entirely out of LEGO bricks. Not pictured: why somebody has a f***ing anesthesia machine in their guest bedroom. I've bought a lot of dumb shit on eBay when I was drunk, but an anesthesia machine? That's a solid purchase.

Hit the jump for several more shots and a link to Eric Harshbarger's website with a TON of other things he's built during his career as an independent brick-builder.

I know it's hard to tell from the picture, but the full model is actually over 7-feet long (for comparison, my penis is only two-and-a-half). That's a big ship. The 135-pound replica was built by LEGOmaniac Adrian Drake over 475-hours spanning 21-months and using nearly 70,00... / Continue →

This is so well made it was hard to tell them apart in the first photo.

  • I hope it works. That would be cool.

  • Actually, he didn't buy the anesthesia machine - GE loaned it to him so he could make it. But I like your story better.

  • I would say HMOs are cutting corners, but the LEGO one is probably about the same price...

I would also not like to be anesthetized with the Lego one... the surgery afterwards would probably hurt.

  • It's seriously hard to tell which one is the real machine from that first picture.

  • I suddenly need more Legos.

  • They shouldn't keep the Lego one next to the real one - it could get very confusing in an emergency.
