Man Sold Safe On eBay For $123, Contained $26,000

February 17, 2012 / ahahhahahahahahha, ebay, for sale, for some reason i don't feel sorry for you, i would have opened it first but i'm also not (that big of) a re-re, learning your lesson, mistakes: you made a pretty big one, money, of course you did, safe, smooth bro, that's what you get!, woopsie doopsie, you dun goofed. regret

Inb4 that sounds like it turned out to be an unsafe sale.

eBay seller jameslabrecque (aka James Labrecque) recently sold this locked floor safe on eBay believing it was empty. But it was not. The buyer opened it and found over $26,000. Now James is wishing his legs were limber enough to kick himself in the nuts. Per the eBay ad:

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. NOTHING MORE AND NOTHING LESS.


HERE IS A MAJOR FLOOR OR IN GROUND SAFE. IT LOOKS LIKE TO BE A 7" DOOR MEASURED ACROSS. IT IS A COMBINATION LOCK UNIT... I DID NOT GET THE COMBINATION FOR THE UNIT .SO YOU WILL HAVE TO CONTACT THE MAJOR SAFE COMPANY TO GET THE COMBINATION OR FIND SOMEONE THAT CAN OPEN THE UNIT UP./

RETURNS: THERE ARE NO RETURNS. ALL MERCHANDISE SOLD AS IS. PLEASE DO NOT ASK US TO REFUND YOUR MONEY.

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH @ "please do not ask us to refund your money". Because you know what James did? Contacted the buyer after the story came out and asked for half of what was inside! Unsurprisingly, the buyer decided to not share. "HA -- you must be out of your f***ing mind" I imagine they said before running out and buying a Jet Ski.

    If you read the seller's feedback, the buyer said he opened it and found $6,000.  The seller then commented back on the feedback and said that the guy was playing a practical joke.

    When someone finds a safe that they own, I'm sure they would try to get it opened before they sold it off. I mean, nobody's that stupid...

    phhahahaHAHAHAHAHA! It's theirs now, since they bought it! I bet the seller found it in an old abandoned house and decided to make some money off of it. Now what I don't get is why hasn't the seller's curiosity kicked in?

  • His curiosity HAS kicked in:  he contacted them and asked for half of the money.

    So it just kicked in a bit too late.
