Cubelets: Modular Robotic Cube Toys (Swarmbots)

Seen here looking suspiciously like the unmarked van driver I've seen circling the middle school, a Swedish dude with an undeniably addictive accent demonstrates a set of Cubelets, a new modular robotic toy set. *stomps through a whole swarm of them * RAWR, GODZILLA SHMEXY.
Each cube is designed to function in one of three ways: action, sensing and passive functions. Combining these variations of blocks together allows for the creation of a myriad of interesting robotic constructs, without any need for programming or robotics expertise.
There are currently 16 different cubes to combine, so the fun never ends! Yes, yes it does -- cubes are $25 APIECE, making them practically unobtainable. Sorry folks, looks like the fun ended before the party even began. "Who cares, your parties always turn out to be sausagefests anyways." Ugh -- I TOLD YOU TO BRING GIRLS.
Hit the jump for a worthwhile video of the Swedish fish here demoing the cubes.

In case you've been living in a cave for the past several months (tell me -- on a scale from 1 to 10 how robot-proof is it?), Congress is trying to push some legislation through the system THAT WILL CHANGE THE FACE OF INTERNET AS WE KNOW IT. And not in a good way like to a Bra... / Continue →
