Dec 17 2010A Gallery For The Ladies: DC Comics Jewelry

dc-jewels-1.jpg

This is a gallery of a bunch of bling created by jeweler nOir for DC Comics. That's the Gotham City ring there, but there's a ton of other stuff after the jump. They've got all sorts of rings, bracelets and necklaces and prices range from ~$50 to several hundred depending on the piece. No, I'm not getting paid to post this. Most of it blows. See? Just kidding, it's actually alright, particularly the Catwoman and Wonder Woman stuff. The Supergirl stuff sucks though but I'm pretty sure Shaq just bought it all anyways so no biggie.

Hit the jump for 16 more pieces from the collections in this order: Batgirl, Catwoman, Supergirl and Wonder Woman. Oh, plus a bonus t-rex ring they make that it's not too late to buy me for Christmas.

Well, at least it's not tacky.

Hey GW you forgot to say something witty to the person who sent it to you. All I saw was,"Thanks to Lauren, who". How could you forget?

Don't be an idiot GW. Everyone knows that DC stands for Detective Comics so you sound like a moron when you say DC Comics. Detective Comics Comics? Really?

We now know the identity of the One True RIng: a T. Rex head.

thanks to lauren, who know that the next best things to gay sex are sparkles

@ 9 that is what it stands for but it eventually became their name so saying dc comics is correct. Even their official website is dccomics.com

@9: Acronyms that are followed by words included in their definition are redundant, yes, but after a while an acronym can evolve and be used as the official company name. "Detective Comics" was a specific franchise line of trade paperback comics which spawned many of the characters still around today. They adopted it as their brand name -- by shortening it to DC -- as a means of creating an identity for the label under which all these new characters could co-exist.

"DC Comics" is a tribute to the original name of the series that started it all. It doesn't literally mean Detective Comics anymore, and is not intended to, since -- as @12 digi pointed out -- all of the company documentation, corporate info, and even the comics themselves run under the label of "DC Comics," expressly written as such.

Who do you know who refers to DC Comics as Detective Comics? Or did you just make that up to tout the fact that you knew an obscure piece of history from the company's heritage?

I thought the DC stood for Degradated Country

Lol @ T-rex

My dick, let me tell you all about it and then correct you for being wrong when you say it's too pretty.

The T-rex ring is the best! Oh, and Catwoman jewelry too.

needs more hetero sex

@ Jonathan

Actually I did make that up, just so I could which douche bag non-life possessing loser would drop a load in his Pampers over it. Congratulations, you've won!

Thank you for the lovely Christmas present. Any chance to be a douche is like a holiday to me. I have a candy cane in every hole I'm so excited.

Peeple don't be a idiot. Everyone knows that "DC" stands for "DC Comics" so you sound like a moran when you say DC Comics. DC Comics Comics? Really?

Someone sounds like a moron, but I"m not sure it's who you think it is.

The company is named "DC Comics".

I swear, you'd think the internet would cut down on people making asses out of themselves, what with information so readily available, and yet...

I also refer to DC as Detective Comics and nothing else. Only Noobs like you guys call it DC Comics.

excellent for punching guys that touch their asses.

@26

noobs like us? and noobs like the entire DC Comics company, employees, parent company and shareholders? All those noobs?

The fucking company is named "DC Comics" you goddamn retard. We're all very fucking sorry if the redundant "c" offends you, but it's in the name nonetheless.

So get over it douchebag.

The Superman neckpiece with the fat rope-chain is absurd. But also awesome.

I love the ring with Gotham city very artistic, but the Supergirl stuff looks chavy. I like the Catwoman claw and ring very unusual especially the ring. Just need a good replica of the Catwoman costume in latex or rubber and i can prowl the streets looking for my 1st victim.
